Artist transfers, label teams and night driving between venues during ADE week
Amsterdam Dance Event, ADE for short, takes over the city for five days every October, usually Wednesday to Sunday. By day it is a conference for the electronic music business. At night it is a festival spread over clubs, concert halls, warehouses and boats across Amsterdam, with more than 1,000 events and hundreds of thousands of visitors. For artists, managers and label teams that means a lot of short trips at strange hours. We drive them in a V-Class or S-Class, booked by the hour from €90, VAT included. There is no night surcharge.

The event
What ADE week is like on the road
ADE has no single venue. A DJ can play a club in the centre at midnight and a warehouse in Noord at 03:00, after an afternoon panel at the conference. A label team might host showcases in two places on the same night. Everyone moves around constantly, often with record bags, a laptop and a small entourage.
Public transport thins out after midnight, and taxis around the Leidseplein and Rembrandtplein are in high demand when clubs let out. Getting to NDSM in Noord means crossing the IJ. By car that is the IJtunnel, roughly 15 minutes from the centre outside traffic. The free ferry from Centraal Station works too, but not with flight cases at 02:00.
Daytime is a separate problem. The conference sessions and meetings sit in the city centre, where parking is scarce and streets are narrow. Our chauffeurs know where they can stop for a quick drop-off and where they will be fined.
How we work during ADE
- Artist transfers. Schiphol to hotel, hotel to venue, venue to the next venue. We work from the timetable your tour manager or promoter sends us, set times included.
- Car at disposal for the night. A V-Class for the artist and up to six others, with room for record bags and a controller case. The chauffeur stays with the car between gigs.
- Label and agency teams. One car for the whole day and night, moving between conference meetings, dinner and showcases.
- Early flights out. Many artists fly out on Sunday or Monday morning straight after a late set. We pick up at the venue or hotel and drive to Schiphol, about 20 km from the centre.
Set times change. Flights get delayed. Send us updates by phone or message and the chauffeur adjusts. If a night runs long, hourly hire simply continues at the same rate.

ADE transport questions
When is Amsterdam Dance Event?
Every October, usually over five days from Wednesday to Sunday in the second half of the month. Check the official ADE website for the dates of the next edition.
Do you charge extra for night driving?
No. The hourly rate is the same at 14:00 and at 04:00. A V-Class costs €90 per hour with a 3-hour minimum.
Can you take equipment as well as passengers?
Yes, within reason. A V-Class fits up to 7 passengers with bags, or fewer people with more cases. For a full live setup, tell us what you carry and we suggest the Sprinter.
How do you get to NDSM in Noord?
By car through the IJtunnel, roughly 15 minutes from the city centre outside traffic. The chauffeur drops you at the wharf and waits or comes back at a set time.
Can the plan change during the night?
It usually does. Call or message the chauffeur or our office and we adjust. On hourly hire you pay for the time used, nothing extra for the changes.
