Service
Hourly chauffeur hire in Amsterdam
One car and one chauffeur for as many stops as you need, billed by the hour at a rate agreed in advance
With hourly chauffeur hire you book a Mercedes and a chauffeur for a block of time instead of a single ride. The car stays with you, the chauffeur waits outside every address, and you change the plan on the go. Rates are €95 per hour for the S-Class (up to 3 passengers), €90 per hour for the V-Class (up to 7) and €140 per hour for the Sprinter (up to 16). The minimum booking is 3 hours for every vehicle. A short booking in a V-Class therefore starts at €270, VAT and fuel included.

The service
How hourly hire works
The clock starts at the time and address you give us for the pick-up and stops when the chauffeur drops you at the last address. Between those two moments the car is yours. If a meeting runs 40 minutes over, the chauffeur is still outside. If you decide to skip the second shop and go for lunch in De Pijp instead, you tell the chauffeur and that is it.
This is the main difference with booking separate transfers. Three short rides in Amsterdam (hotel to a meeting, meeting to lunch, lunch back to the hotel) would each have their own pick-up time and their own 15 minutes of free waiting. With an hourly booking nobody watches the minutes at each stop.
| Vehicle | Passengers | Per hour | Minimum | Minimum booking |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mercedes S-Class | 1–3 | €95 | 3 hours | €285 |
| Mercedes V-Class | 1–7 | €90 | 3 hours | €270 |
| Mercedes Sprinter | 8–16 | €140 | 3 hours | €420 |
Inside the city centre the chauffeur does not always park at the door. Many canal streets are narrow, loading bays are short-stay and parts of the centre are closed to through traffic. The usual routine is simple: you send a WhatsApp ten minutes before you are done, and the car is back at the door when you walk out.
Hourly hire is not limited to Amsterdam. Plenty of clients start in the city and end the day in Haarlem, Utrecht or The Hague. The rate stays the same. For a single trip from A to B, a fixed transfer price is usually cheaper, and we will tell you so when you ask for a quote.

Real situations
When clients book it
Three meetings, one afternoon
A meeting at 13:00 on the Keizersgracht, one at 15:00 in Zuidas, a client drink at 17:30 near the Museumplein. Four hours in an S-Class, with the laptop bag left in the car the whole time.
Shopping on the P.C. Hooftstraat
Two friends spend the morning on the P.C. Hooftstraat and the Cornelis Schuytstraat. The chauffeur takes the bags to the car after each shop and drives to lunch at 13:30.
Dinner and a concert
Pick-up at the hotel at 18:30, dinner on the Herengracht, the Concertgebouw at 20:15, back at the hotel around 23:30. Five hours, and nobody waits for a taxi in the rain on the Van Baerlestraat.
Hourly or a fixed transfer?
- One trip, A to B: book a fixed transfer. Schiphol to the city centre in a V-Class is €125, which is less than the 3-hour minimum.
- Two or more stops with waiting: hourly hire. You stop thinking about pick-up times.
- A full day out of town: hourly hire, see private day tours.
- A long one-way trip abroad: a fixed price, see long distance chauffeur.

FAQ
Questions about hiring a chauffeur by the hour
How much does it cost to hire a chauffeur per hour in Amsterdam?
From €90 per hour in a V-Class, €95 in an S-Class and €140 in a Sprinter. Prices are per vehicle and include VAT.
What is the minimum booking?
3 hours for the S-Class and V-Class, 3 hours for the Sprinter. So the smallest booking is €270 in a V-Class.
Is waiting time included?
Yes. During an hourly booking the chauffeur waits at every stop and that time is part of the rate. You pay for the hours booked, not for minutes at each address.
Can I extend the booking on the day?
Usually, yes. Tell the chauffeur as early as you can. Extra time is charged at the same hourly rate.
Can I leave Amsterdam during an hourly booking?
Yes. Trips to Haarlem, Utrecht, The Hague or the coast are common. The hourly rate does not change outside the city.
