On the road
The route from Schiphol into the city
From Schiphol the car takes the A4 towards Amsterdam and then the A10 ring road. Where we leave the ring depends on your address: one of the southern exits for the Museum Quarter and Zuid, a western exit for the Jordaan and Oud-West, or the northern side of the ring for Centraal Station and the eastern docks.
The last two kilometres are the slow part. The canal ring has narrow one-way streets, bridges and a lot of cyclists. Our chauffeurs know which hotels have a drop-off bay and where the car can stop without blocking a tram line.

The price stays the same whatever the traffic. For departures in the rush hour we plan an extra 20 minutes.
Private transfer, taxi or train?
The train from Schiphol to Amsterdam Centraal takes about 15 minutes and is the cheapest option if you travel light and stay near the station. From Centraal you still need a tram or taxi to most hotels, with your suitcases.
A taxi from the official rank outside Schiphol Plaza runs on a meter. For one person with one bag it is usually cheaper than our S-Class, but the fare rises in traffic and in busy hours there is a queue.
