Guide
Where to meet your driver at Schiphol
Step by step from the plane to the car
Your chauffeur waits for you at the Meeting Point in Schiphol Plaza, the red and white chequered cube in the arrivals area, holding a sign with your name. Schiphol has a single terminal, so every arrival hall ends up in the same Plaza after baggage reclaim and customs. We track your flight and you get 60 minutes of free waiting from the moment you land, so a slow passport queue or a late suitcase is not a problem. The rest of this guide covers the walk itself and what to do when something does not go to plan.
From the plane to the car, step by step
Schiphol is one building. There are several arrival halls, but they all open into Schiphol Plaza, the shopping and station area on the ground floor. You cannot end up at the wrong terminal.
- Leave the aircraft and follow the signs for baggage reclaim. If you arrive from outside the Schengen area, you pass passport control first. Flights from within Schengen go straight to the baggage halls.
- Switch on your phone. Connect to Schiphol's free Wi-Fi if you have no roaming data, and check WhatsApp for a message from your chauffeur.
- Collect your luggage. Free luggage trolleys are available in the baggage halls, and you can take one all the way to the car.
- Go through customs. Most travellers walk through the green channel. If you have goods to declare, use the red channel.
- Walk through the sliding doors into the arrival hall and on into Schiphol Plaza.
- Find the Meeting Point. It is the large red and white chequered cube, signposted as Meeting Point. Your chauffeur stands there with your name on a sign.
- Walk to the car together. The car is parked in the short-stay car park next to the terminal, so there is no shuttle bus and no long walk with your bags.
Parking at Schiphol is included in our airport transfer price. You do not pay the chauffeur anything at the airport.
What to send your chauffeur
A two-line message after landing saves more time than anything else. Send it by WhatsApp to +31 614 789 627 or reply to the chauffeur's own message if you already have one.
- That you have landed, and roughly where you are: "At passport control" or "Waiting for bags, belt 12".
- Anything that changes the pickup: an extra suitcase, a pram, a passenger who missed the flight.
- If you prefer to meet somewhere other than the Meeting Point, say where. A café or a shop name in Schiphol Plaza works well.
You do not need to send your flight number again. We already have it from the booking and follow the arrival time.
If something does not go to plan
Most pickups are routine. These are the situations we see most often and how to handle each one.
| Situation | What to do |
|---|---|
| Your phone has no data | Connect to Schiphol's free Wi-Fi. WhatsApp works over Wi-Fi, so you can message the chauffeur without roaming. |
| You came out of a different arrival hall | Nothing changes. All halls lead into Schiphol Plaza. Follow the signs for Meeting Point. |
| Passport control is slow | Common on non-Schengen arrivals at busy times. Send a short message. The free waiting time runs for 60 minutes after landing. |
| Your bag is missing | Report it at the baggage service desk in the reclaim hall before you go through customs. Message the chauffeur that you will be late. |
| You cannot see the chauffeur at the Meeting Point | Stay at the cube and send a WhatsApp message or call. Do not go looking around the Plaza, it makes it harder to find each other. |
| Your flight is delayed or diverted | No action needed for a delay, we follow the flight. For a diversion to another airport, message us and we rearrange the pickup. |
If you go past the free waiting time, we charge €25 per started 15 minutes. Waiting caused by a late flight does not count, because the clock starts when you actually land.
Luggage, trolleys and larger groups
Trolleys can go with you from the baggage hall to the car park. Your chauffeur loads the bags.
Luggage space is the thing people underestimate. A Mercedes S-Class takes up to 3 passengers but only normal suitcases for them. With golf bags, a pram or more than one large case each, book a V-Class, which seats up to 7. Groups of 8 to 16 travel in the Sprinter.
For a group arriving on different flights, tell us when you book. We can wait for the last flight with one vehicle or send more than one car.
Help for passengers with reduced mobility
Schiphol offers free assistance for passengers with reduced mobility, from the aircraft through passport control and baggage reclaim. You book it through your airline, ideally when you book the flight and at the latest a couple of days before travelling.
Tell us as well. The assistance staff can bring you to the Meeting Point, where the chauffeur takes over. Let us know if you travel with a folding wheelchair or walker so we send a car with enough room for it.
